The Hourly Cost of Coffeeshop Office Space

Cappuccino

I am one of those people. The coffeeshop people. A plugger-inner and camper-outer. And I don’t regret it.

I don’t work well at home. I need to go somewhere to give myself permission to focus and word hard. To an office.

I’m also an introvert, but not one who demands silence. I like white noise in the background.

Thus, the coffeeshop.  A white-noise-filled quasi-office with caffeine on tap.

How much does it cost to work in this office? I spend roughly $3.50 per visit, including tip. I work for 3 or 4 hours.

That’s a dollar an hour, my friends. To rent an office space where I can do my best work and enjoy a free cappuccino.

Yes, there are drawbacks. Like when there’s no plug. Or no seats. Or the wi-fi goes out. Or people like you give me weird looks.

But a dollar an hour? I’ll take that.
