Dirtbag Rich arrives in late March 2026, and it’s full of important ideas—which you can help spread!
Here’s are a few ways you can help. If you’re not sure what to do, choose the first item! And if you’re thinking, “Blake, I’m not a paid member of your marketing team”—scroll down and read Why Should You Care?
Help with Money
- Pre-order the Kindle version at 50% off. For one week after launch, the Kindle e-book will cost just $5. Pre-ordering boosts Amazon sales and help others discover the book. Even if you’re planning on getting the paperback, please consider doing this!
- Buy a copy for a free-spirited 20- or 30-something. While the book can be enjoyed by people of all ages, I believe that soul-searching 20- and 30-somethings will gain the most. Send a gift copy!
- Support my 2026 bicycle book tour across New England, Colorado, Utah, California, Oregon, Washington, and BC. Every dollar you send will go toward bike repair, burgers, and free paperbacks for hungry young dirtbags. Donate here.
Help with Time
- Review the book on Amazon or Goodreads. This is where most people will discover Dirtbag Rich. Five star reviews are great, but the text matters more! Share 1-2 specific ideas/stories that spoke to you.
- Share nice words about Dirtbag Rich in a message group, online community, or social media. You can just copy/paste the review your wrote! Include the cover image to help with visibility.
- Color my hair. If you’re along my bicycle tour route, and you know how to bleach/color hair—I’m ready. Let’s crowdsource this rainbow.
Help with Introductions
- Connect me to a podcast (where I can talk about Dirtbag Rich) or a public speaking opportunity at a bookstore, conference, climbing gym, outdoor club, student rec center, alternative school, homeschool group, book club, or living room—especially if it’s along my bicycle book tour.
- Ask your local bookstore or library to carry Dirtbag Rich. I believe deeply in these institutions—and it’s difficult for self-published books to break into their worlds. Your advocacy matters!
- Point a young person toward my TikTok, where I’m posting videos related to Dirtbag Rich (also cross-posted on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube).
Again—if you’re not sure, choose the first entry on any list.
Got another wild idea? I’m all ears.

Why Should You Care?
And just to review—what’s inside this book, and why should anyone care?
☝🏻 In one way, Dirtbag Rich is one person’s story. It’s the story of why I never took a normal job, never wanted a traditional home, and why wilderness, travel, dance, and intense communal experiences always felt more “real” than “real life.”
✌️ It’s also a book about people similar to you and me: those who share an undying lust for “freedom,” a powerful connection to nature, and the belief that we must live wildly, joyfully, and intensely, right now, or risk the early death of the soul.
🤟🏼 But most importantly, it’s a call to arms: against workaholism and burnout culture, against decadence and entitlement, against sedentary and screen-bound existences, and against the assumption that we are but brains on sticks.
Dirtbag Rich is for young people of all ages. It’s both utterly idealistic and utterly practical. It’s brief yet dense. And it’s self-published on purpose, allowing me to give away copies to those who can’t afford it.
This is your chance to amplify ideas that matter to you, me, and others whose lives this book might touch. Your efforts matter. Thank you for your help. 😘
